Bulgarian disclosure — FSC, BSE, and ESEF under the EU framework
Bulgarian listed-issuer disclosure is supervised by the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) under the EU Transparency Directive as transposed into the Bulgarian Public Offering of Securities Act. Regulated information is distributed through the FSC's electronic register and the Bulgarian Stock Exchange's own public-announcement system. Annual reports must be filed in iXBRL under the EU ESEF mandate — the requirement applying to issuers with securities admitted to trading on a regulated market — alongside the traditional PDF copy.
The Bulgarian fiscal year follows the calendar year universally. Annual reports (годишни финансови отчети) land between March and late April; half-year interim reports follow the EU Transparency Directive timing. Ad-hoc disclosures under MAR Article 17 — price-sensitive press releases, insider transactions, and significant shareholding notifications — constitute the majority of live disclosure volume. Accounting follows IFRS for consolidated financials of listed groups; Bulgarian national standards apply to separate-entity filings. Primary disclosure language is Bulgarian, with English translations absent for most issuers outside the BSE's international segment. The BSE hosts roughly 250 listed instruments (equities and bonds) across its regulated market and alternative segment. The SOFIX (15 large caps by liquidity and market cap), BG40 (40 mid caps), and BGBX40 indices structure the equity universe. Filings are available as JSON metadata, Markdown body, and original PDF or iXBRL. Coverage runs from the current period back through the ESEF-era archive, and ad-hoc disclosures are indexed within roughly one minute of FSC publication.
