Public-company filings in Hungary are supervised by Magyar Nemzeti Bank (Central Bank of Hungary) (MNB). Reporting follows IFRS. Filings are most commonly published in Hungarian and English. Major issuers are listed on BUX and BUMIX. Calendar year.
Hungarian disclosure — MNB, Budapest Stock Exchange, and ESEF
Hungarian listed-issuer disclosure is regulated by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) — the central bank, which also carries out financial supervisory functions following the consolidation of the former PSZÁF supervisory authority in 2013. Regulated information is filed with the MNB and published through the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE / Budapesti Értéktőzsde) announcement system. Annual reports must be filed in iXBRL under the EU ESEF mandate alongside the PDF, with the MNB enforcing the standard EU timeline.
The BSE lists approximately 50 instruments across its regulated market. The BUX index (12 to 15 constituents, free-float weighted) is the primary institutional benchmark. Fiscal years follow the calendar year for the majority of issuers. Annual reports (éves jelentések) land between March and late April; half-year reports follow EU Transparency Directive timing. Ad-hoc disclosures under MAR Article 17 — price-sensitive announcements, insider transactions, significant shareholding notifications — dominate live volume. Primary languages are Hungarian and English; BUX constituents typically publish in both, while smaller issuers may file in Hungarian only. Accounting follows IFRS for all listed consolidated groups. FinancialReports indexes MNB-published filings within roughly one minute of publication and exposes them as JSON metadata, Markdown body, and original PDF or iXBRL.
