Swedish disclosure — Finansinspektionen, Nasdaq Stockholm, and the Nordic reporting cycle
Swedish listed-issuer disclosure is supervised by Finansinspektionen (FI), Sweden's financial regulatory authority, under the EU Transparency Directive as transposed into Swedish law. Annual reports are filed in iXBRL under the EU ESEF mandate alongside the PDF copy, and live regulatory announcements are distributed via the issuer's approved wire service — predominantly Cision and GlobeNewswire — and deposited into FI's official storage mechanism.
The Swedish filings calendar is anchored to the 31 December fiscal year-end for the vast majority of listed issuers, producing a concentrated cluster of årsredovisningar (annual reports) between late January and early April. Half-year interim reports follow the EU Transparency Directive timing, and Q1 / Q3 interim management statements are standard practice for almost every large- and mid-cap issuer on Nasdaq Stockholm. Ad-hoc disclosures under MAR Article 17 — insider transactions, voting-rights notifications, and price-sensitive press releases — are filed continuously and form the highest-volume category. FinancialReports ingests all four classes within roughly one minute of publication.
Accounting follows IFRS for consolidated group financials (mandatory for all listed issuers), with Swedish GAAP (BFN / K3) applying to separate-entity filings. Most large-cap issuers publish in Swedish and English simultaneously; smaller-cap issuers on the First North Growth Market and Spotlight Stock Market often publish in Swedish only. Language metadata is exposed on every filing record for downstream filtering, and both language versions are preserved where available.
The dataset covers filings across the full listing hierarchy: OMX Stockholm 30 (large caps), OMX Stockholm Mid Cap, OMX Stockholm Small Cap, First North Growth Market, and the Spotlight segment — approximately 400 issuers in aggregate. Filing bodies are available as JSON metadata, Markdown content (the same text rendered on the public web pages, ready for NLP pipelines without a separate PDF-to-text step), and the original PDF or iXBRL document.
