Singaporean regulatory filings from SGX and MAS
Singapore's equity market — operated by Singapore Exchange (SGX) and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) — serves as Southeast Asia's premier international listing venue, with approximately 650 listed issuers including a significant cohort of foreign-domiciled companies that chose SGX as their primary or secondary listing exchange. The disclosure framework mandates filings under Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International) (SFRS(I), fully IFRS-identical since 2018) for Singapore-incorporated issuers, with foreign issuers permitted to report under IFRS, US GAAP, or home-country standards with reconciliation. SGX's Listing Rules define continuous disclosure obligations including immediate announcement of material information, quarterly or semi-annual financial results (depending on market cap), and annual reports.
FinancialReports ingests Singaporean regulatory filings from SGX's electronic disclosure system (SGXNet), covering the full universe of Mainboard and Catalist (sponsor-supervised growth board) listed companies. Filing categories include annual reports, quarterly and half-yearly financial statements, material transaction announcements, interested person transactions, and corporate action notices. Each filing is timestamped against SGX's disclosure clock and indexed by issuer, filing type, and announcement category.
SGX's distinctive feature for international investors is its high proportion of foreign-listed companies — particularly Chinese S-chips, Malaysian, Indonesian, and Thai companies using Singapore as a capital-markets gateway. This creates a unique data characteristic: SGX filings for the same corporate group may be denominated in SGD, USD, RMB, or MYR depending on the functional currency of the issuer. FinancialReports captures all SGXNet filings regardless of issuer domicile, with company-level metadata flagging the country of incorporation, functional currency, and applicable accounting framework.
