Danish disclosure — Finanstilsynet, Nasdaq Copenhagen, and the dual-class share tradition
Danish listed-issuer disclosure is supervised by Finanstilsynet (the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority) under the EU Transparency Directive as transposed into the Danish Capital Markets Act. Annual reports are filed in iXBRL under the EU ESEF mandate alongside the traditional PDF copy, and live regulatory announcements are distributed through the issuer's approved wire service before deposit in Finanstilsynet's official storage mechanism.
The Danish disclosure year is anchored to the 31 December fiscal year-end for nearly all large-cap issuers. Annual reports land predominantly between February and late March. Half-year interim reports follow EU Transparency Directive timing, and Q1 / Q3 trading updates are common among the OMXC25 universe but not universal — Danish issuers have historically published fewer quarterly updates than their Swedish and Finnish peers. Ad-hoc disclosures under MAR Article 17 are the highest-volume category. FinancialReports ingests all classes within roughly one minute of regulator publication.
Accounting follows IFRS for consolidated group financials. Danish issuers typically publish in Danish and English; almost every OMX Copenhagen 25 constituent provides an English version, while smaller-cap filings are frequently Danish-only. A distinguishing structural feature is the prevalence of dual-class share structures: A.P. Møller-Mærsk (two share classes), Carlsberg (A and B shares), and several family-controlled industrials operate with non-standard voting architectures that are reflected in the capital-structure metadata on each company record.
The dataset covers every Nasdaq Copenhagen-listed issuer, with filing bodies available as JSON metadata, Markdown content, and original PDF or iXBRL. The OMXC25 universe — Novo Nordisk, A.P. Møller-Mærsk, Ørsted, Carlsberg, Vestas, DSV, Coloplast, Genmab, FLSmidth, and others — is among the highest-quality disclosure set in Europe by completeness and English-language availability.
