Austrian disclosure — FMA, Wiener Börse, and the German-language archive
Austrian listed-issuer disclosure is supervised by the FMA (Finanzmarktaufsicht) under the EU Transparency Directive and its Austrian implementing legislation. Annual reports — the Jahresfinanzbericht — are filed in iXBRL under the EU ESEF mandate alongside the traditional PDF. Live regulatory announcements flow through the issuer's distribution provider and are registered in the FMA's official disclosure database, accessible at fma.gv.at. Wiener Börse (the Vienna Stock Exchange) is the primary listing venue for all regulated-market issuers.
Austria's disclosure calendar is dominated by the 31 December fiscal year-end for virtually all large-cap issuers. Annual reports land between March and late April; half-year reports arrive in August–September in line with EU Transparency Directive timing; and quarterly trading updates — common among the larger ATX Prime constituents — arrive in May and November. Ad-hoc disclosures under MAR Article 17, insider-transaction reports under MAR Article 19, and significant-shareholding notifications under the Austrian Stock Exchange Act form the continuous live stream. Filing language is primarily German; an English version is standard for ATX 20 constituents (OMV, Erste Group, Verbund, Voestalpine, BAWAG) and available for the majority of ATX Prime issuers, while smaller-cap and Standard Market issuers are typically German-only. Both language versions are preserved and indexed with language metadata exposed on every filing record.
The practical result is a structured ESEF-tagged annual archive paired with a continuous ad-hoc disclosure stream — both available as JSON metadata, Markdown body normalised from the original PDF or iXBRL, and the original document.
