Public-company filings in Germany are supervised by Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Reporting follows IFRS (consolidated); HGB (separate). Filings are most commonly published in German and English. Major issuers are listed on DAX 40, MDAX and SDAX. Calendar year (majority); some Sept year-end.

The German listed-company landscape

Germany hosts roughly 450 publicly traded companies on Deutsche Börse's regulated market (Prime Standard and General Standard), plus several hundred more on the open-market Freiverkehr and the SME-focused Scale segment. The headline indices — DAX 40, MDAX, SDAX, and the technology-tilted TecDAX — capture the large, mid, small, and tech-cap layers respectively, with sector tilts that reflect Germany's industrial backbone: automotive, industrials, chemicals, and increasingly software and renewables.

The DAX 40 was expanded from 30 to 40 constituents in September 2021 and now covers the largest Prime-Standard issuers by free-float market cap, subject to a profitability filter. Notable constituents include SAP, Siemens, Allianz, Deutsche Telekom, BASF, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, BMW, and Bayer. The MDAX (50 mid-caps) and SDAX (70 small-caps) round out the institutional-investable universe, while TecDAX overlaps DAX/MDAX to highlight German tech.

FinancialReports tracks every Prime- and General-Standard issuer plus the Scale segment, organised by sector (FRCF / ISIC), industry group, and primary listing venue. Each company page links into the issuer's full filings history, financial line-items, ISINs, and any cross-listings on European or US exchanges. Sector composition skews toward Industrials (~22%), Materials (~14%), Financials (~12%), Healthcare and Consumer Discretionary, with a long tail of mid-cap engineering and chemicals issuers that don't appear in larger-market indices but are core to the German economy.

Listings are refreshed daily from BaFin and Deutsche Börse sources. New IPOs and de-listings flow through the same ingestion pipeline that backs the filings index, so a newly public company appears with its first ad-hoc disclosure, full reporting history, and sector classification on day one — without manual curation.
