BBI Immobilien AG emerged from the traditional company shell of Bürgerliches Brauhaus Ingolstadt AG (BBI AG), Germany's oldest joint-stock brewery (since 1882), which is still listed on the stock exchange today.
Economic vision and entrepreneurship have been the solid roots of business commitment since the 17th century. Various historic properties acquired in Ingolstadt, Neuburg and Donauwörth date from this period. Most of them are listed pubs that have been lovingly restored and serve HERRNBRÄU's traditional beer.
On 1 January 2003, BBI AG spun off its operative brewery business into HERRNBRÄU GmbH & Co. KG. At the same time, BBI AG took over the real estate portfolio. In 2006, the company was renamed BBI Bürgerliches Brauhaus Immobilien AG (BBI Immobilien AG). From then on, the focus of business activities was on the management of commercial properties.
