Kirby Corporation operates through two primary business segments: Marine Transportation and Distribution and Services. The Marine Transportation segment is the largest domestic tank barge operator, transporting bulk liquid products such as petrochemicals, refined petroleum products, and black oil via its inland and coastal fleets. The Distribution and Services segment is a leading provider of after-market services and parts for engines, transmissions, and related equipment. This division serves the oilfield, marine, and power generation markets by manufacturing and remanufacturing equipment, including pressure pumping units, power generation systems, specialized electrical distribution and control equipment, and high-capacity energy storage solutions. It also sells and rents a variety of industrial equipment.
