Major contract awarded by a leading Italian shipyard for the glazing systems of four new cruise ships destined for an international cruise line.

Somec's Chairman Oscar Marchetto has commented: “With this contract, orders secured in about ten days reach a total value of 94 million Euro”

San Vendemiano (Treviso), 19 May 2026 –- Somec S.p.A. (Euronext Milan: SOM), specialising in the engineering, manufacturing, and installation of complex turnkey projects for the civil and naval sectors, announces that its Horizons: Engineered Systems of Naval Architecture and Building Façades BU has secured a new contract with a total value of 56 million Euro.

The contract covers the supply and installation of marine glazing systems on four newbuild cruise vessels, commissioned by a leading Italian shipbuilding group for a major international cruise line. In detail, the project covers the full supply of balcony areas and glazing fixtures, approximately 2,000 for each ship.

Operational activities will commence in 2027 and conclude in 2036, with the economic impact distributed across the entire timeframe.

This award follows the 38 million Euro contract — disclosed to the market on 7 May 2026 (see relevant press release) — covering a five-ship order with a leading French shipyard.

Oscar Marchetto, Chairman of Somec states: “This latest contract brings the total value of orders secured in about ten days to 94 million Euro, representing a major milestone for Somec Navale and the entire Group. The contract mix is most significant, spanning multiple shipyards across Europe and involving highly specialised skills for diverse workstreams, securing a revenue stream through 2036. This backdrop bears out the resilience of a sector that continues to attract significant investment and currently guarantees long-term visibility extending well into the next decade. At the same time, it reaffirms Somec’s cross-market footprint across the leading international shipbuilding hubs, having built a track record over time through timely execution, technical reliability, and the capability to manage complex programmes.”
