Career Synthesis

Jo has been active in European real estate since 1997. After a first job as marketing director of a Belgian development company, he broadened his real estate expertise in various companies of the Belgian stock quoted investment fund Ackermans & van Haaren (www.avh.be). In different functions, Jo was responsible for the asset management of the REIT Leasinvest Real Estate (www.leasinvest.be), the investment policy of Extensa Group (www.extensa.be) and acted as development manager for the reconversion

project Tour & Taxis in Brussels (www.tour-taxis.com). From 2006 until 2010, Jo was active as Head of the Real Estate Department of The Brussels Airport Company. In this function, he was responsible for the start-up of new real estate developments both on the cargo and on the passenger site of the airport. Next to the real estate development, he was also responsible for the asset management of the real estate portfolio of Brussels Airport, generating a yearly EBITDA of €40M.

Since October 2010, Jo is Chief Executive Office of Montea (www.montea.com), a Belgian REIT, investing in logistic and industrial real estate in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany. Under his management, the portfolio has grown from €200 million to €2.2 billion, and it continues to grow at a pace of €150 million to €200 million per year.
