EXMAR Offshore Company, Houston, Texas has entered into an agreement with LLOG Exploration Company L.L.C., Covington, Louisiana to design a new production semisubmersible hull for installation in the Gulf of Mexico in 2014. The design is based on EXMAR's proprietary OPTI® series of hulls. This design will be similar to the OPTI-EX® built for EXMAR NV of Belgium and subsequently sold to LLOG Deepwater in 2011 that is now producing the "Who Dat" Field in Mississippi Canyon. The new hull design will be larger in order to accommodate the anticipated processing requirements of LLOG Exploration and its partners. The OPTI® hull is designed for optimized motions and meets the latest environmental requirements for the Gulf of Mexico. EXMAR CEO, Nicolas Saverys stated that, "EXMAR is pleased to be selected by LLOG to design a second production facility for the Gulf of Mexico. This deal represents a continuation of our partnership that started with the OPTI-EX® and we appreciate LLOG's confidence in the OPTI® design as a flexible deepwater production platform." EXMAR will provide the OPTI® design package, engineering services, project management and construction supervision for the hull.

EXMAR Offshore Company, Houston, Texas (USA) sloot een overeenkomst af met LLOG Exploration Company L.L.C., Covington, Louisiana (USA) voor het ontwerp van een nieuw half-afzinkbaar productieplatform dat in 2014 operationeel zal zijn in de Golf van Mexico. Het ontwerp van dit platform is gebaseerd op de door EXMAR ontworpen OPTI® romp. Het ontwerp van de nieuwe constructie zal grotendeels overeenkomen met dat van de OPTI-EX® die door EXMAR NV werd gebouwd, vervolgens in 2011 aan LLOG Deepwater werd verkocht en thans in het "Who Dat" veld in Mississippi Canyon in de Golf van Mexico produceert. Om tegemoet te komen aan de wensen van LLOG Exploration en haar partners zal het nieuwe ontwerp groter zijn. De OPTI® romp zal zodanig ontworpen zijn om een maximale mobiliteit te verschaffen en zal aan alle milieuvereisten van de regelgevende instanties voldoen. EXMAR's CEO, Nicolas Saverys verklaarde "verheugd te zijn om door LLOG te zijn verzocht een tweede productiefaciliteit te ontwikkelen voor de Golf van Mexico. Deze overeenkomst leidt tot verderzetting van de samenwerking met LLOG, welke samenwerking startte bij de onderhandelingen over OPTI-EX®. EXMAR stelt het vertrouwen van LLOG in het OPTI® design voor het ontwikkelen van een flexibel productieplatform bestemd voor diepere wateren zeer op prijs". EXMAR zal instaan voor het ontwerp en projectiebeheer, alsook de engineering en het toezicht op de bouw van het OPTI® ontwerp.
