Invesco DB Oil Fund is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that provides exposure to the price movements of crude oil. The fund's investment objective is to track the performance of the DBIQ Optimum Yield Crude Oil Index Excess Return. It achieves this by investing in futures contracts on Light, Sweet Crude Oil (WTI), a key global oil benchmark. The underlying index utilizes a rules-based strategy to select futures contracts in an attempt to mitigate the negative effects of rolling contracts in contango markets. The fund collateralizes its futures positions primarily with US Treasury securities, money market funds, and T-Bill ETFs, on which it earns interest.
