Cumberland Resources Ltd. was historically a mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition and development of gold properties, most notably the Meadowbank project in Nunavut. The company ceased independent operations following its acquisition by Agnico-Eagle Mines. More recently, a separate entity, Cumberland Resources Nickel Corp., has focused on acquiring and exploring mineral properties that address critical resource needs in North America, including nickel and antimony assets in Newfoundland and Ontario. This junior resource company is committed to advancing these exploration assets but is currently transitioning its corporate identity to Global Defence Metals Corp.
