Cambior Inc. was an international mining company specializing in the exploration, development, and production of mineral properties, primarily gold. Founded in 1986, the company maintained operations, development projects, and exploration activities across the Americas, including North and South America. Although recognized chiefly as a gold producer, Cambior also engaged in the mining of other metals, holding interests in niobium and bauxite properties, and maintaining a 50% stake in a niobium mine. Cambior Inc. ceased independent operations when it was acquired by Iamgold in a transaction valued at $1.3 billion.
