The company was created in Nîmes by Guy Bastide, a pharmacist by training. He was one of the very first in France to develop this activity through a specific structure, the SARL Etablissements Bastide, in 1977.

Bastide Groupe is a Home Health Care Provider (HHCP) with a global offer (advice, sales and rental) of products and services for the care, maintenance and hospitalisation of elderly, sick or disabled people at home.

Over the years, the company has experienced strong growth throughout France by acquiring companies
companies engaged in the same activity. The company was floated on the stock exchange in 1997 in order to support its
its growth.
