American States Water Company is a holding company operating through three subsidiaries. Its water utility, Golden State Water Company, provides water service to approximately 265,000 customer connections across more than 80 communities in California. Its electric utility, Bear Valley Electric Service, Inc., distributes electricity to about 25,000 customers in the Big Bear Lake area of California. The third subsidiary, American States Utility Services, Inc., provides operations, maintenance, and construction management for water and wastewater systems at U.S. military bases under long-term (50-year) privatization contracts with the U.S. government.
