iCOLLEGE SIGNS AN EXCLUSIVE FIVE YEAR NDIS TRAINING AGREEMENT WITH UBERCARE
Highlights:
-
iCollege’s leading healthcare training provider, Celtic Training Pty Ltd (Celtic), has signed a 5-year exclusive Agreement with Ubercare Services Pty Ltd (Ubercare);
-
Celtic is to provide mandatory formal training to prospective Ubercarers wishing to pursue a career in home and community care under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS);
-
Celtic will also provide mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training and further education to qualified Ubercarers wishing to upskill;
-
Ubercare has developed a Smart Device Application that enables people to access affordable, in-home care services on demand from qualified care workers. It is available 24 hours, 7 days a week and can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play;
-
Ubercare will provide professional placements, coaching and job preparation services to Celtic students.
Celtic is a subsidiary of Perth based education company iCollege Ltd (“iCollege” or “the Company”) (ASX: ICT) which has entered into a five year exclusive Partnership Agreement with Ubercare to provide formal training to current and prospective Ubercarers.
Celtic is one of Australia’s leading private providers of training in Health, Community Services, Rehabilitation, Occupational Health and related areas and is well positioned to provide home and community care workers, with the necessary training and skills to participate in the NDIS.
Ubercare is an Australian business that links NDIS clients who are in need of care services with qualified, insured and police checked
carers via an Application. This gives the carers the choice and flexibility of when, where and how often they work.
Ubercarers are qualified, independent contractors who have Australian Business Numbers and are self-employed to provide direct care to clients. Ubercare processes payment from clients in respect of care received via the Application on the Ubercarers behalf.
Ross Cotton, iCollege’s Executive Chairman, commented:
“We are pleased to be partnering with such an exciting and innovative business like Ubercare and look forward to providing highquality vocational training to its workforce of home and community carers.”
Simon Chappel, Ubercare’s Managing Director, said:
“The health care industry is struggling under the sheer weight of numbers of people who need assistance. Innovative businesses that can address this growing problem are the future. Ubercare and iCollege have come together to train future care workers and introduce them to people in need of an extra pair of hands. We are looking forward to creating jobs and helping people.”
The mandatory training is valued at over $4,000 per student and Ubercare currently has over 500 individuals in Adelaide that are pursuing a career as an Ubercarer. This number is expected to grow over the next quarter.
Ubercarers must hold a minimum of Certificate III level qualification in care, such as the Certificate III in Individual Support (Home & Community), as well as a current First Aid Certificate and a Manual Handling Certificate.
