Appointment of Key Industry Expert

Mineral Commodities Ltd (“MRC” or “the Company”) is delighted to announce that Mr Christoph Frey has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Graphite and Anode Materials (Europe).

Mr Frey commenced consulting to the Company in April 2020 and has been responsible for managing flake graphite marketing and sales. In Mr Frey’s expanded role, he will continue to oversee graphite marketing and sales and will also be responsible for mining and processing activities and provide direct leadership of the Company’s European graphite operations, including the development of the Company’s Active Anode Materials Plant.

Mr Frey is a qualified mining engineer who has worked exclusively in the natural graphite industry for over 27 years. Mr Frey has been involved in all facets of development and production of natural flake graphite, with expertise in the supervision of graphite mining and processing, managing the development of product portfolios from graphite concentrate to high value graphite products including purified spherical graphite, graphite sales and evaluating and procuring graphite projects.

Mr Frey was previously engaged at Magnezit Group Europe GmbH (Germany) where he served as Project Manager at Dalgraphite Limited in Russia. From 2007 to 2009, Mr Frey was the General Manager of Qingdao Kropfmuehl Graphite Limited, based in Qingdao, China, where he focused on plant optimisation and value-added products and international sales. Mr Frey then served as Technical Director at AMG/Graphit Kropfmuehl AG from 2009 to 2013. His responsibility included technical oversight of the group’s entire production infrastructure in China, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Europe.

In 2015, Mr Frey founded ProGraphite GmbH, which provides a wide range of consulting and laboratory services to graphite businesses globally.

Chief Executive Officer, Mark Caruso, commented: “ We are delighted to have someone of Christoph’s industry expertise join the MRC team full time. Christoph’s engagement is consistent with the Company’s stated objective of building a vertically integrated Active Anode Materials Plant to receive concentrates from its Skaland and Munglinup operations. The Company continues to build its technical expertise as it moves to a final selection of an anode purification downstream process.
