The following is a Company Announcement issued by MAPFRE Middlesea plc, pursuant to the Listing Rules of the Malta Financial Services Authority.

In July 2016 there was an intra-group merger between MAPFRE Internacional SA, the major shareholder in MAPFRE Middlesea plc, and MAPFRE America SA in which MAPFRE America SA was the surviving entity. This change in the shareholding structure of MAPFRE Middlesea plc, in which the ultimate shareholders remained unchanged, was approved by the Malta Financial Services Authority, under the Insurance Business Act (Chap. 403), by letter dated 12 September 2016.

MAPFRE America SA will change its name into MAPFRE International SA in the coming months.
