ASX Announcement | 3 March 2016 Freelancer makes significant additions to supported currencies including adding Chinese Yuan
Thursday, 3rd March 2016 - Freelancer Limited (ASX:FLN) (Freelancer or the Company), the world’s largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace by total number of users and posted jobs, today adds Chinese Yuan as a supported currency, as well as Chinese payment gateways Alipay and UnionPay, and a range of new gateways across Europe and Canada.
“Of the 3.3 billion people currently online, 22% of those are from China,” says Matt Barrie, Chief Executive Officer. “Our introduction of Chinese Yuan to our list of supported currencies, along with Alipay and UnionPay to our supported payment gateways, will allow Chinese professionals and small business owners to easily work with the rest of the world on the Freelancer.com platform.”
Additionally, the Company announces the addition of six other payment gateways. Freelancer will now support iDEAL (Netherlands), SOFORT Banking (Germany, Austria, Belgium), Giropay (Germany), Interac (Canada), Bancontact / Mister Cash (Belgium), and Dotpay (Poland).
