Appointment of Chief Executive Officer
The Board of Directors of Envirozel Limited (ASX: EVZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Powis to the full time position of Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment of Mr Powis is effective from 29 February 2008.
Mr Powis, a Bachelor of Engineering is 53 years of age. He was the Company’s Chief Operating Officer until now and has extensive managerial experience, specifically in engineering, building and construction. His elevation to the position of CEO is a natural progression and is consistent with succession planning instigated by the Board in 2007.
Mr Powis founded Syfon Systems Pty Ltd, the company’s successful “syfonic” roof drainage operation having held the position of Managing Director of that business until September 2007.
As CEO, Mr Powis’ objective will be to lead EVZ into its next stage of growth by building on the financial strength of the Company and ensuring enhanced shareholder value.
Initially Mr Powis will focus on strengthening EVZ as a network of engineering service enterprises across Australia and Asia through a combination of organic growth, group synergies and acquisitions.
Mr Gordon McKern, who as acted as Executive Chairman will, effective from the same date assume the role of Non-Executive Chairman.
