Sovereign Gold’s Hilux Mounted MAC200 diamond drill rig is drilling shallow step out holes along the 1,550 metre long structure to provide structural control for the selection of deep diamond drill holes for Sovereign’s JV partner SUGEC’s large drill rig.
Concurrently with SUGEC’s rig drilling a deep diamond hole, Sovereign drilled under SGRDD039 to assist SUGEC in planning the next deep hole.

Qualifying Statements
The information in this Report that relates to Exploration Information is based on information compiled by Michael Leu who is a member of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
Mr Leu is a qualified geologist and is a director of Sovereign Gold Company Limited.
Mr Leu has sufficient experience, which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity, which he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Resources. Mr Leu consents to the inclusion in this announcement of the Exploration Information in the form and context in which it appears.
Control hole, SGRDD043 encountered alteration at 9.8m and Martins Shafttype disseminated and sheeted vein mineralisation from 22m to 36m with drilling ongoing.
SGRDD039 was a shallow hole that averaged 1.1g/t Au over 12 metres from 3-15m downhole including 4.93g/t Au over 0.6m. Also 129.6g/t Ag over 0.72m from 13.60-14.32m downhole including 453g/t Ag (14.6 ounces) and 0.14% Sb (antimony) over 0.2m[1] .
The 1,550m long northeast trending gold-bearing structure is located 2.7km northwest of Martins Shaft. Further ground follow-up of soil geochemical survey data processed in collaboration with Sovereign Gold’s JV partner SUGEC has located a second large mineralised structure. This structure is located 1.1km northwest of the structure currently being drilled and mapping has now traced mineralisation and alteration for 640m along a northeast strike.
Soil geochemistry mapped the strike of both structures and the anomalous gold is associated with Bi, Sb, As, W and Mo, a diagnostic suite of IntrusionRelated Gold elements. This suite of elements indicates the gold mineralisation has been derived from magmatic (from a granitic magma) rather than orogenic (fluid derived from metamorphic dehydration) fluid. These discoveries continue to support proof of concept of a large IntrusionRelated Gold Systems.
The mineralisation discovered to date further confirms the unexplored potential for IRGS within Sovereign’s extensive portfolio of tenements.
The mineralisation is exposed at surface and yet literature reviews conducted by Sovereign, have not identified any previous exploration company, other than Sovereign, collecting a single soil or rock sample in this area.
The deep drilling programs objective is to establish a JORC resource and the potential for a large, low cost open cut operation.

Figures

Comparison with Martins Shaft Gold Mineralisation: The mineralisation and alteration drilled in the 1,550m long structure (LHS) is of the newly discovered Martins Shaft-type (RHS), however on a much larger scale.
This figure shows the surfaces of sheeted vein alteration in felsic dykes studded with 0.5-2mm wide sulphides (field of view L-R 65mm). SGRDD043 is from the 1,550m long structure (LHS, 23.4m) and SGRDD004 from Martins Shaft (RHS, 47.45m).

Comparison with Martins Shaft Gold Mineralisation: The mineralised felsic dyke of the 1,550m long structure exhibits identical IRGS-style alteration to the felsic dyke hosting the Martins Shaft gold mineralisation. Phyllic alteration consisting of sericite-quartz-sulphide with biotite destruction (both fields of view L-R 70mm).

SGRDD043, 32-33m. Brecciated metasediments exhibiting quartz-sulphide-felsic dyke flooding. The light brown material (centre of core) is a finger of felsic dyke with disseminated sulphides that has forced its way through the metasediments. The simultaneous emplacement of dyke material and mineralisation is a diagnostic Intrusion-Related Gold System characteristic (field of view L-R 70mm).
