MONCLER PRESS RELEASE UPDATE ON MALWARE ATTACK
Milan, 30 December 2021. With reference to the press release published on 23 December 2021 related to an unauthorized access to the company's IT systems (malware), Moncler confirms that the temporary outage of its IT services, which was proactively triggered to protect the systems, impacted the operations of its logistics centers and client service activities. Physical stores and e-commerce were able to continue operating.
As of today, the logistics activities related to the shipping of final products have been reactivated, prioritising shipments for customers of the e-commerce store. Also client service activities are gradually returning to full operation.
We deeply regret any inconvenience caused to our customers by the delays in the shipment of orders and apologize for the communication problems due to the systems outage.
The temporary interruption of Moncler's logistics services has not had a material impact on the Group's economic results.
As soon as the unauthorized access was detected, the company took immediate action to mitigate the impact, investigate the incident and protect its stakeholders, with the support of both legal and cybersecurity experts. At present, the company declares that unauthorized access to personal data has been detected. Therefore, even if the investigation is still ongoing, Moncler has promptly notified the Italian Data Protection Authority and reported the incident to the police authorities.
Moncler confirms its commitment to maintaining an open dialogue with its stakeholders and will provide more information on the investigation and on the progressive reactivation of all the IT systems involved.
