Urbco Inc. was a real estate entity whose primary business involved owning and managing a portfolio of income-producing rental properties. The company underwent a significant corporate reorganization in 2002. Through an arrangement approved by shareholders, Urbco converted its entire real estate rental portfolio into Northern Property Real Estate Investment Trust (NPR). This restructuring created NPR, which acquired Urbco's assets, valued at over $250 million, becoming a major owner of office and residential properties. Urbco Inc. was subsequently absorbed or dissolved, with its operations continuing under the structure of the newly formed REIT.
