Description
UKRENERGYMACHINES, JSC (also known as Turboatom) is a strategic state-owned enterprise in Ukraine that specializes in the production of steam and other turbines for thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, combined heat and power plants, hydraulic turbines for hydroelectric power plants, pumped storage power plants, gas turbines, and combined cycle gas turbines. It is considered one of the top ten turbine construction companies in the world and competes with other major organizations such as General Electric, Siemens, Alstom, JSC Power Machines, Andritz Hydro, and Voith. The plant was commissioned on May 1, 1932, and has a rich history of development, including the suspension of turbine production during World War II to manufacture defense products and repairs tanks.
