Udo Müller was born in 1962 in Rüdesheim. At the young age of 19, he managed his first publishing house. Following his medical degree, he founded the advertising agency Lunenburg & Partner in 1985, at the time one of Berlin’s leading agencies. With the foundation of Lunenburg & Partner Mediaservice GmbH in 1987, he entered the field of out-of-home advertising. In 1990, he teamed up with Heinz W. Ströer to open up new outdoor advertising markets with Ströer City Marketing GmbH (later renamed Ströer Out-of-Home Media AG). The first success was the acquisition of extensive advertising rights in East Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. After the company became Ströer Out-of-Home Media AG in 2002, Udo Müller advanced the growth of the company with the takeover of Deutsche Städte Medien (2004) and Deutsche Eisenbahn Reklame (2005).
Christian Schmalzl was born in Passau in 1973. He studied political science, philosophy, literature, and sociology in Passau, Munich, and Cardiff. While in college, he also worked as a freelance journalist in the editorial departments of various newspapers and publishers. After graduating from college, he joined Munich-based MediaCom as a trainee. In 2002, a little more than two years after starting out as a trainee, he became the youngest managing director in the agency group’s history. In 2007, he assumed full responsibility for all business activities in Germany. After just 10 years with the internationally active media group, he was made Worldwide Chief Operations & Investment Director (COO) at the age of 36. Christian Schmalzl has joined Ströers Board of Management as COO at the end of the year 2012. He has been appointed Co-CEO of Ströer SE & Co. KGaA in March 2017.
Henning Gieseke was born in Hilden in 1971. He studied business administration at the University of Cologne and joined the Metro Group via Kienbaum Consultants, where his career included responsibility for corporate development, investor relations and group controlling. In 2012, he took over the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and eventually became Co-CEO of Real Holding.
As of June 1, 2021, Henning Gieseke was appointed CFO of the Ströer Group and makes up the management board of Ströer Management SE alongside Co-CEO Udo Müller, Co-CEO Christian Schmalzl and COO Dr. Christian Baier.
Christoph Vilanek, born in 1968, began after studying business administration at the Leopold-Franzen University in Innsbruck (Austria) his professional career with the publishing house Time-Life International. Before becoming managing director of the online fashion business boo.com, he worked in various positions within the mail-order business. In 2001, the native Austrian switched to the management con- sultancy McKinsey, where his focus was on the field of telecommunication in Ger- many and Eastern Europe. In 2004, he became joint managing director of iPublish, a subsidiary of the Ganske publishing group in Hamburg.
Before his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of freenet AG, Christoph Vilanek held various positions from 2005 until 2009 within the area of customer communi- cation, customer development, customer service and customer retention at debitel AG in Stuttgart. He is married with two children.
Dr. Karl-Georg Altenburg was born in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1963. He holds a de- gree in engineering from RWTH Aachen and a doctorate in technical science from the University of Technology in Vienna. In 2000 he co-founded Inquam Ltd, a spe- cialist provider of professional mobile telecommunication services, for which he served as CFO until 2004. Over a period of 20 years he worked for JPMorgan, in New York and London in various roles in Capital Markets and Corporate Finance and from 2005 to 2014 in Frankfurt as CEO for Germany, Austria & Switzerland. Dr. Karl-Georg Altenburg serves as a Senior Advisor to Citigroup and member of its EMEA Advisory Board. He worked more than 25 years in Investment Banking. Until June 2016 he was Co-Head Corporate Finance Europe, Middle East & Africa at Deutsche Bank in London and a member of its Corporate Banking & Securities Ex- ecutive Committee. Angela Barzen was born on 24.08.1965 and studied business administration at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Today, as an independent business coach and trainer, she advises companies and executives, among others. In 1993 she founded Plakativ Media GmbH in Munich and established the medium of giant posters as an integral part of outdoor advertising on the German market. Following the sale of the company in 2017 to BlowUP Media GmbH she continues to advise the same company today as a freelance consultant. In 2003, Angela Barzen founded Plakativ Media International GmbH to expand the marketing of giant posters to the foreign market. In 2009 Angela Barzen became a communications trainer and then became a certified coach and Certified Consultant Positive Psychology. She works very successfully as an independent business coach and trainer for executives and companies. Since June 2019 Angela Barzen is a member of the Supervisory Board of Ströer SE & Co. KGaA.
Martin Diederichs was born in Bonn on August 11, 1962. After completing his legal studies at the universities of Bonn and Nice and his legal clerkship within the dis- trict of the superior court of Cologne, he became a practicing attorney in Cologne. He has been a partner with the law firm Heidland Werres. Diederichs based in Co- logne since 1994. His main areas of practice are construction and architectural law, with a specialization in international plant construction, as well as general corpo- rate law. He has been a specialist attorney for construction and architectural law since 2007, as well as a recommended arbitrator of the mediation and arbitration work group for construction law with DAV (SOBau). He has been active as an arbi- trator with the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and as an attorney rep- resentative in various arbitration proceedings domestically and internationally.
Ms Barbara Liese-Bloch was born in Siegburg, Germany in 1971. After studying Busi- ness Administration at the European Business School in Montreux, Geneva and Ma- drid, she was responsible for strategic product marketing for EMEA at Bay Networks from 1994 onwards. This marked the beginning of her career in computer network- ing. After various mergers and restructuring processes, the company was acquired by Nortel, resulting in the largest merger of networking technology with conventional communication technology to date. Barbara Liese-Bloch changed industries and, after completing an MBA at SDA Bocconi in Milan, took over the management of Monofil- Technik Gesellschaft für Synthese Monofile mbH in Hennef, Germany in 2000. The highly specialised company develops and produces customised high-performance monofilaments made of thermoplastic polymers for technical applications and nu- merous special monofilaments for niche products.
Petra Sontheimer, born 1970, advised executive teams, managers and companies on the topic of Leadership & Collaboration in the Digital Age as a top management coach and business partner at cidpartners. After completing her degree in business administration at the University of Mannheim and a Diplome International de Man- agement at the Institute Commercial de Nancy, she began her career in human re- source management at Beiersfdorf AG. From 1998 to 2001, she was the Director of Human Resources at Pixelpark AG, a Bertelsmann subsidiary, and was in charge of es- tablishing and expanding its human resources department and change management system during the company’s international expansion. She subsequently went into business with a cidpartners partner, founding a consultancy that specialises in sup- porting companies in dynamically complex environments.
Andreas Huster was born in Zeulenroda, Thuringia in 1960. After finishing high school in 1979, he began studying the humanities at Humboldt Uni- versity in Berlin. In 1986, he successfully completed his degree, and went on to work in different industries, mostly in retail, in particular as a store manager, and in different roles in the service sector.
He began working for the D+S Group in October 2008. As a team leader in Customer Care Service for D+S communication center Gera GmbH (today operating under the name tricontes360 Gera GmbH), he was responsible for the area of telecommunications. Since 2009, he has also been a mem- ber of the Works Council and Group Works Council of tricontes360 Verwaltung Hamburg GmbH. He has worked as a full-time Works Council member and Works Council Chairman in Gera since August 2013.
Sabine Hüttinger was born on May 18, 1974. After completing her vocational training to become an office clerk in 1997, Sabine Hüttinger began her career at mediateam Werbeagentur GmbH. During this time, she completed her in-service study course to become a qualified business manager at the Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie in Berlin. Since 2004, Sabine Hüttinger has been a commercial employee of the Ströer branch in Berlin-Brandenburg. As an employee in the Public Affairs division, she is responsible for municipal contracting parties.
Sabine Hüttinger has been a member of the Ströer SE & Co. KGaA Supervisory Board since March 2017. Her current term of office runs from August 2018 until the end of the ordinary General Meeting in 2022.
Petra Loubek was born in Hohen Elbe Kreis Trautenau, on 14 November 1979. After successfully passing her Abitur examination and graduating from the Free University of Berlin with a degree in business administration, she started her career at Möbel Höffner’s in-house advertising agency Wil- com GmbH & Co. KG. In November 2011 she joined the Ströer Group as team leader of the Eastern Sales Service Centre in Dresden. In September 2012 she was appointed team leader of the Eastern Sales Service Centre in Berlin, only to then become team leader of the field sales force for the Dres- den/Chemnitz region in September 2015. As of August 2016, she was re- sponsible for the Berlin/Brandenburg area in an identical function. During this time she additionally managed the Sales Service Centre of the Eastern Region as a parental leave replacement.
Rachel Marquardt was born in 1980 and graduated with a degree in law from Saarbrücken, followed by a legal internship at the higher regional court of Saarland. As part of her internship, she worked in Saarbrücken (at solicitors’ firms with a focus on labour and social law and insolvency law, among other roles), Speyer (German University of Administrative Sciences) and Berlin (the legal policy department at ver.di, with a focus on collective labour law).
Since 2008, the fully qualified lawyer has been a member of the federal executive board of ver.di on a full-time basis. She initially worked in the area of law and law policy before making a change in 2009 to the area of tariffs, industry, publishing, printing and paper and was responsible for the publishing and media business as well as youth and young talent work. Since February 2021, she has been head of tariff policy, industry, publishing, printing and paper. Rachel Marquardt is married and has three children.
Tobias Meuser was born on April 28, 1972. After his vocational training as a surveying technician for the city of Düsseldorf in 1992, Tobias Meuser worked as a surveying technician and headed a surveying group in a planning and surveyor’s office in Düsseldorf. As part of his role, he handled projects in the Bayer plant in Dormagen, in the CentrO Oberhausen and for the bridge that allows the A44 to cross the Rhine close to Düsseldorf. He has run his own surveying company in the Düsseldorf metropolitan area since 2008.
In 1999, Tobias Meuser became a construction law specialist at Ströer and worked as an acquisitions manager from 2008. Since 2014, he has been portfolio manager for the rail team in the West region and is responsible for the portfolio of advertising spaces in train stations in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Dr Thomas Müller was born in 1957 and graduated from Goethe University Frankfurt with a doctorate in sociology, having written his thesis about Theodor W. Adorno. After completing his studies, Thomas Müller became a youth education consultant at the Naturfreundejugend Hessen youth association in 1994, and in 1996 he took on a new role at the German Salaried Employees’ Union in Frankfurt. When the Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft – United Services Trade Union (ver.di) was established in 2001, he switched to the telecommunications and information technology specialist division and has been responsible for the IT sector in Hesse since then. He became head of the specialist division in Hesse in 2011. During this time (until 2016) he was also a member of the Supervisory Board at Hewlett-Packard GmbH. Dr Thomas Müller lives with his partner and son in Frankfurt.
Nadine Reichel was born in Dachau in 1985. After finishing high school in 2004, she studied business administration at the University of Applied Sci- ence/HS in Munich, specialising in controlling and accounting. In 2009, she successfully completed her degree in business administration. Nadine Reichel began her career at Thorlabs GmbH in Dachau, a company that produces lasers and measuring instruments in the field of optics, where she worked in controlling and quality management, helping to set up the department.
Since 2015, Ms Reichel has been working for Munich-based Infoscreen GmbH, which is part of the Ströer Group. As Commercial Manager she is in charge of controlling and accounting. In this role, she carries out eco- nomic analyses and evaluations, takes care of all matters relating to debt and credit as well as tasks in the field of public video. Nadine Reichel is married.
Christian Sardiña Gellesch was born on June 7, 1970. After he completed high school in 1990, he began vocational training to become an electroplater at LPW Blasberg GmbH in Solingen and subsequently worked as a technical employee in surface technology. He gained his initial experiences in outdoor advertising starting in 1995 as a commercial employee at City Billboard GmbH in Cologne and was responsible for the establishment and expansion of the “Moskito” network for advertising cultural events. In 1999, Christian Sardiña Gellesch successfully completed an in-service study course in business economics at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Trades and Crafts Academy and became a managerial assistant at GEGA Ges. für Gasflaschen-Instandsetzung mbH & Co. KG.
Ulrich Voigt was born in Cologne in 1965. After completing his training as a com- mercial banker at Stadtsparkasse Köln in 1987 and further training as a savings bank business administrator at the Rheinische Sparkassenakademie (Rhineland Sav- ings Bank Academy), he worked for the bank in a number of different roles. Be- tween 1997 and 1999, he completed a degree course at the Lehrinstitut für das Kommunale Sparkassen- und Kreditwesen (Institute for Communal Savings Banks and Credit Institutions) in Bonn and became a graduate savings bank business ad- ministrator. He occupied a number of management positions at Sparkasse KölnBonn before becoming an authorized representative of the company with responsibility for the Institutional Investments, Asset Management and Shareholdings business units. He has been a member of the Management Board of Sparkasse KölnBonn since 2008.
Dr. Kai Sauermann was born in Wesseling on 20 May 1963. After graduating with his general university entrance certificate, completing his military service and studying business administration at the University of Cologne with auditing and business taxation as his majors, Dr. Kai Sauermann started his career in early 1989 with a well- known, medium-sized, family-run auditing firm in Düsseldorf. Simultaneously, he completed his doctorate at the Seminar for Business Administration and Auditing (Fiduciary Seminar) of Prof. Sieben at the University of Cologne. He completed his doctoral thesis on consolidated accounting/financing in 1992 and passed the tax consultant's examination in 1993, followed by his appointment as a certified public accountant in late 1994.
