Permian Basin Royalty Trust is an express trust whose principal assets are net overriding royalty interests in various oil and natural gas properties. These interests were originally carved out by Southland Royalty Company. 8-K
Regulatory Filings Classification · 95% confidence The document is a Form 8-K filed with the SEC, which is a current report used to announce major events that shareholders should know about. The text specifically mentions Item 2.02, "Results of Operations and Financial Condition," and states that a press release announcing the monthly cash distribution to unitholders is attached as Exhibit 99.1. The document is short (3511 characters) and primarily serves to announce the press release rather than provide detailed financial statements or analysis. It does not contain comprehensive financial data or management discussion, but rather a notification of a distribution event. Therefore, it is best classified as a Regulatory Filing (RNS), which is the fallback category for miscellaneous filings that do not fit other specific categories.

Regulatory Filings Classification · 95% confidence The document is a Form 8-K filed with the SEC, which is a current report used to announce major events. The text indicates it is reporting the issuance of a press release about a monthly cash distribution to unitholders, which is attached as an exhibit. The document explicitly states it is furnished pursuant to Item 2.02, Results of Operations and Financial Condition, but it does not contain actual financial statements or detailed financial data itself. The length is 3512 characters, which is relatively short, and the document mainly announces the press release rather than providing the full financial results. Therefore, this is not an Earnings Release (ER) or Interim Report (IR) but rather a Regulatory Filing (RNS) as a current report announcing an event without substantive financial data.

Regulatory Filings Classification · 95% confidence The document is a Form 8-K filed with the SEC, which is a current report used to announce unscheduled material events or corporate changes. The text specifically mentions Item 2.02, "Results of Operations and Financial Condition," and states that the registrant issued a press release announcing its monthly cash distribution. The document is short (3506 characters) and primarily serves to announce the press release, which is attached as an exhibit. There are no detailed financial statements or substantive financial data within the document itself. According to the "Menu vs Meal" rule, this is an announcement of information rather than the full report. Therefore, the appropriate classification is Regulatory Filings (RNS), which is the fallback category for miscellaneous filings that do not fit other specific categories and includes Form 8-K filings that announce events or press releases without detailed financial data.

The document includes a press release as an exhibit but does not contain detailed financial statements or comprehensive financial data itself. The length is 3503 characters, which is relatively short and consistent with a current report rather than a full financial report. The document is not an earnings release (ER) because it references a press release for distribution information, nor is it an annual or interim report. It is a regulatory filing reporting a material event (monthly cash distribution announcement) and is not a full financial report. Therefore, the appropriate classification is Regulatory Filings (RNS).
