FONAR Corporation designs, manufactures, sells, and services magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners. A pioneer in the field, the company developed the world's first commercial MRI. Its flagship product is the UPRIGHT® Multi-Position™ MRI, the only scanner capable of imaging patients in various weight-bearing positions, such as standing, sitting, or bending, in addition to the traditional recumbent position. This technology enables the diagnosis of pathologies that may be missed on conventional lie-down MRI systems by scanning patients in the position where they experience symptoms.
