The Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) is an exchange-traded fund designed to provide investors with direct exposure to the price of bitcoin. The fund's investment objective is to reflect the performance of bitcoin, less the trust's operational expenses. It achieves this by investing directly in and holding bitcoin as its sole asset. Managed by crypto-specialist firm Bitwise Investment Advisers, LLC, BITB allows investors to access the bitcoin market through traditional brokerage accounts, thereby removing the logistical barriers of direct ownership, such as custody and security. A key feature of the fund is its transparency, as it was the first U.S. bitcoin ETF to publicly disclose the bitcoin addresses of its holdings.
