Wingara Ag Purchases New Site to Continue Expansion of Hay Export Business

Friday 5[th] May 2017, Melbourne, Australia: Victorian-based agricultural business Wingara Ag Limited (Wingara) is pleased to announce the purchase of a new 20-hectare site in Dooen, Victoria to further advance the Company’s future hay exporting capabilities. The new site represents Lot 1 and 2 of the Wimmera Intermodal Freight Terminal Precinct on the Henty Highway, Dooen (9km north-west of Horsham).

The purchase consideration will be funded from Wingara’s existing cash reserves, with the purchase also being contingent upon the land being re-zoned as a ‘Special Use Zone’ by the council within the next 12 months.

Subject to the timing of the re-zoning, Wingara is aiming to commence operations on this site in time for the 2018/2019 hay season with the new site to be an export hay facility capable of exporting up to 200,000 tonnes per year. The size of the property will also allow for possible expansion into processing, storing and exporting of other agricultural products.

This transaction is a key component of Wingara's expansion strategy as the site is strategically located in a prime hay growing region where Wingara has existing strong relationships with Farmers. The location is also part of a central rail and road transport hub.
