Board Changes
Westar Resources Limited (ASX: WSR ) ( Westar or the Company ) wishes to announce that Mr Jason Boladeras has stepped down from his role as Executive Director, with effect from 24 March 2025 to pursue an alternative business interest.
Subsequent to that effect, Jason will step down from his role as CEO and the Company will commence the search for a replacement.
As part of the restructure, the Board has agreed to appoint Mr Chris Newman as Non-Executive Director.
The appointment of Mr Newman brings additional geological expertise to the Company as a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy and as a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, currently consulting to the Mining Industry through Newman Geological Services.
Mr Newman has previously worked as Executive Vice President-Exploration at Alacer Gold Corp with formal Geology Manager roles at Avoca Resources Ltd, Atherton Resources Ltd, Carbine Resources Ltd and Dacian Gold Ltd and as a Geologist with BHP Group Ltd and Western Mining Corporation.
The Board looks forward to the expertise that Chris can bring to the Company as it continues to review several opportunities.
While the Company searches for a new CEO, Chairman Simon Eley will perform the executive role on his existing terms.
