VHM Awarded Major Project Status for a further three years
HIGHLIGHTS
-
Commonwealth Industry Minister extends Major Project Status for VHM’s Goschen Rare Earths and Mineral Sands Project by a further three years.
-
The Minister’s endorsement acknowledges the Project’s potential contributions to Australia’s resources and critical minerals industry.
-
Major Project Status will greatly benefit the Company with additional project support, coordination and assistance with remaining approvals, as it moves through the development phase and into construction, and production.
VHM Limited (“VHM” or the “Company”) is pleased to advise that the Company has been awarded a three year extension to Major Project Status for the Company’s Goschen Rare Earths and Mineral Sands Project ( Goschen ) located 275 kilometres northwest of Melbourne in Victoria’s Loddon-Mallee region.
Major Project Status enables additional Commonwealth Government regulatory support for projects of national significance through their contribution to strategic priorities, economic growth, employment, and regional Australia.
Major Project Status will help VHM accelerate investment discussions and develop strategic partnerships as the Company progresses to a Final Investment Decision (FID) to develop the Goschen Project.
The extension follows endorsement of the Goschen Project’s Environment Effects Statement (EES) last December by Victoria’s Minister for Planning.
VHM Limited Chief Executive Officer Ron Douglas said:
“VHM's achievement in obtaining a three year extension to Major Project Status for the Goschen Project is significant. This extension serves as an important enabler for our project development plans.”
“Development of the Goschen Project will initiate a new rare earths and minerals sands precinct in Victoria and help deliver the Australian Government’s Critical Minerals Strategy and the Victorian Government’s Critical Minerals Roadmap.”
