*Vale informs about the renewal of the mandate of its Executive Officers*

Rio de Janeiro, May 11 th 2017 – Vale S.A. (“Vale”) informs that today its Board of Directors decided upon the renewal of the mandate of its Executive Officers for another two years.

Therefore, the mandates of Mr. Clovis Torres Junior (Executive Officer of Human Resources, Sustainability, Compliance and General Counsel); Mr. Gerd Peter Poppinga (Executive Officer of Ferrous Minerals); Ms. Jennifer Anne Maki (Executive Officer of Base Metals); Mr. Luciano Siani Pires (Chief Financial Officer and Executive Officer of Investor Relations); and Mr. Roger Allan Downey (Executive Officer of Fertilizer, Coal and Strategy) were renewed.
