PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION TEAM RECRUITED

Precious Metals Australia Ltd (PMA) is pleased to announce additional key appointments to the team dedicated to reopening the world-class Windimurra vanadium mine in Western Australia:-

  • lan Hassall Chief Geologist
  • Andrew Steers Financial Controller
  • Ken Little Health & Safety Coordinator
  • Les Ford Principal Process Engineer
  • Michael Tamlin Marketing Manager
  • Underway Chemist and a Procurement Officer

The PMA Board is pleased that the Company is continuing to attract the highest calibre of professional expertise required for rebuilding and expansion of its world class Windimurra mine in Western Australia. The following professionals have recently joined as full time employees of the Company.

lain Gillies - Engineering & Construction Manager

lain Gillies will head PMA's engineering team for the reconstruction of the Windimurra Vanadium Mine. Previous responsibilities include the project management, design and construction of major mining and mineral processing plants with Fluor, Kirfield, and Brown & Root.

lain will take a lead engineering role during the detailed design phase of the project and will also be responsible for managing construction of early works programs at Windimurra in the coming months, before moving into an overall construction management role.

Ian Hassall - Chief Geologist

lan has over 10 years experience in the exploration and resource definition of Australia iron ore deposits. He was responsible for project planning and execution, geologist selection and tenement acquisition, and was previously Senior Geologist with one of the world's major iron ore producers. He was recently Senior Geologist at Hancock Prospecting where he was responsible for all facets of exploring, resource modelling and project management for a major West Australian iron ore project. Ian has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Geology.

lan's experience in modelling iron ore deposits is particularly relevant to Windimurra, given that the vanadium is hosted within a massive magnetite iron horizon. A number of Chinese steel producers have requested samples of Windimurra iron ore, concentrate and calcine with an interest in purchasing material for its iron content. The Company is in the process of compiling drill hole data with a view to calculating an iron ore resource for the existing drilled horizon at Windimurra. Ian will plan and execute a new exploration programme to delineate the extent of PMA's iron deposit.

Andrew Steers - Financial Controller

Andrew Steers will be commencing with PMA as Financial Controller and brings with him 10 vears of accounting experience from internationally and nationally renowned organisations. including KPMG. Andrew's experience ranges from a number of Australian industries. including mining, financial services, manufacturing, property, health and public sectors. Andrew will be primarily responsible for statutory, financial and management reporting and establishment of the mine cost reporting system.

Andrew will take over some of the duties of, and provide support for the Company's Chief Financial Officer, Mike Drew, who is currently working through proposals with a number of banks for financing the Windimurra redevelopment.

Ken Little - Health & Safety Coordinator

Ken Little joined PMA in mid June as our Health & Safety Coordinator. Ken's key responsibilities are to develop and implement the Windimurra Health and Safety management system and to meet ethical and legal safety and health responsibilities for the Windimurra vanadium mine site. Ken has a strong health and safety background in resources and construction having worked with BHP Billiton and Civmec on recent projects in the Pilbara and in the transport industry having spent 5 years with Mitchell Logistics.

Last month the following appointments were made:

Les Ford - Principal Process Engineer

With 30 years experience, Les Ford is the world's foremost expert in vanadium, having had a key role in the design and operation of the world's largest vanadium mines. As Group Technical Director - Vanadium for Xstrata Alloys, Les was responsible for Xstrata's vanadium business in South Africa, and was previously plant manager of the Rhovan vanadium mine. Prior to Xstrata. Les was a member of the Executive Committee of the world's largest vanadium producer, Highveld Steel and Vanadium Co, after having run its vanadium operations. He has visited Windimurra many times in the past, including during its previous operation.

A Chemical Engineer, Les is well known and respected throughout the ferro-alloys industry by vanadium users and producers alike. His decision to move with his family to Perth to work full time on the reopening of Windimurra is a strong expression of confidence in this world class project

Michael Tamlin - Marketing Manager

Michael Tamlin has also joining PMA's executive team, to head up the marketing of Windimurra products, and the development of new product streams. He has already been kept busy visiting customers overseas. Michael was previously responsible for world-wide sales, marketing and distribution of the market-leading tantalum mineral and lithium mineral and chemical products of Sons of Gwalia Ltd. Michael has significant experience in the marketing of high value, specialist metals and minerals, particularly in Asia. He speaks Mandarin fluently, plus French and German, and has extensive contacts throughout the Michael has a degree in metallurgy and, as a director of the ferro-allov industry. International Tin Research Institute and the Tantalum-Niobium International Study Centre, he has extensive experience in the research and development of expanded markets for specialty metals.

The Company is also completing employment arrangements with an experienced vanadium process chemist with many years prior experience at Windimurra, and an experience mine Procurement Officer
