Telenor’s Thai subsidiary submits bid document for 700 MHz spectrum

Telenor’s subsidiary in Thailand, dtac, has today submitted documents to take part in the 700 MHz spectrum allocation. The price for each of the 2x10 MHz blocks of 700 MHz is set at THB 17.6 billion (around NOK 4.8 billion), to be paid in equal installments over 10 years. Assignment is expected to take place later today.

In connection with participation in the 700 Mhz allocation, dtac has also requested an extension of the license fee payments on 900 MHz spectrum acquired in 2018, from the current 4 year payment profile. An extension will mean that the remaining payments should be split into one payment of THB 7.4 billion (around NOK 2 billion) in 2020 and equal yearly payments thereafter of THB 3.8 billion (around NOK 1 billion) from 2021 until 2027.
