Suncorp announces leadership team change
Suncorp (ASX: SUN | ADR: SNMCY) CEO Steve Johnston today announced that Chief Information Officer Sarah Harland will leave the Group, effective 27 March.
Ms Harland joined Suncorp in September 2016 to lead the Group’s technology function and her responsibilities included digital enablement, cloud and infrastructure, security services, data and innovation labs.
“Ms Harland has made a significant contribution in strengthening Suncorp’s technology and led Suncorp’s digital transformation over the past three years, including the development of the award-winning Suncorp App that brings together transactional banking, insurance, and rewards for our customers,” Mr Johnston said.
“Sarah has also driven the development of Suncorp’s leading API layer, which gives the Group great flexibility as we adapt to rapidly changing customer and community expectations.”
Ms Harland said she was proud of what had been delivered under her leadership.
“It has been a privilege to work at Suncorp and be a part of the technology transformation over the past three years, especially during a period of unprecedented change in this sector,” Ms Harland said.
Darren Abbruzzese, Suncorp’s Executive General Manager Digital, Labs & Insurance Technology, will act as Chief Information Officer while Suncorp searches for a permanent replacement.
Mr Abbruzzese joined Suncorp in late 2017. He brings strong data and digital technology expertise and financial services experience to the role. While at Suncorp, he has supported the Insurance business, as well as the Group’s digital journey. Mr Abbruzzese previously worked for ANZ for nearly 10 years and prior to this he held roles with Toyota, Deutsche Bank, iSelect, and Goldman Sachs JB Were.
