SUNCORP APPOINTS HUMAN RESOURCES EXECUTIVE

Suncorp today announced the appointment of Scott Alomes as its senior human resources executive.

Mr Alomes, who starts at Suncorp in November and will report directly to chief executive Patrick Snowball, has an extensive career within the financial services industry having held senior executive roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and National Australia Bank.

Mr Snowball said the appointment of Mr Alomes was strategically important to the transformation of the Group.

“I have spent considerable time listening to the views of stakeholders within Suncorp, as well as externally, and one of the consistent messages I have heard is that we need to make better use of our existing strengths if the Group is to realise its potential,” he said.

“Over the course of a difficult couple of years, Suncorp employees have consistently demonstrated they are one of the Group’s key strengths by continuing to provide outstanding customer service despite significant external distractions.

“Scott will represent the interests of Suncorp’s employees at the top table and his extensive financial services experience, which includes major integration projects, will be invaluable to building the Group’s culture.”

Mr Alomes said he looked forward to the challenges offered by his newly created role.

“I accepted this role because Patrick made it clear that building Suncorp’s culture and meeting the needs of employees is one of his key priorities. I look forward to working with the senior leadership team to achieve this,” he said.
