Sonae SGPS, S.A. hereby announces that its subsidiary Sonae MC SGPS S.A. ("Sonae MC") has concluded the sale of its 50.00% stake in the share capital of Modelo – Distribuição de Materiais de Construção, S.A. ("Maxmat") to Cimentos Estrada Pedra, SGPS, Lda., an entity fully owned by Building Materials Europe ("BME Group") for net proceeds of €68 million. The sale will generate capital gains of approximately €42 million, in Sonae's consolidated accounts.
The transaction has been approved by the competent competition authorities.
