REQUEST FOR LOSS OF PUBLIC COMPANY STATUS

Sonae Indústria, SGPS, SA informs that, following the resolution taken at the Shareholders' General Meeting, it has submitted today to the Securities Market Commission a request for loss of public company status, in accordance to the terms of Article 27, number 1, paragraph b) of the Securities Code.
