MDS Strengthens Board with Appointment of Two Sequoia Executives as Directors

MDS is pleased to announce that it has appointed Mr Scott Beeton, the current Managing Director and Chief Executive Offi cer of SFG to the role of Managing Director of MDS. The Company has also appointed Mr Marcel Collignon, who is a Director of SFG, to the position of Executive Director of MDS.

These appointments come after MDS shareholders voted at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to proceed with a transaction to acquire 100% of SFG, as reported to the market on 17 December 2014.

These appointments were part of the terms under which MDS will acquire 100% of SFG, with MDS also retaining the entire SFG management team. As also reported to shareholders on 17 December 2014, MDS expects to issue new Fully Paid Ordinary Shares to the vendors of SFG in the next week, and fully complete the transaction in early January 2015.

Following this transaction, MDS will emerge as a broad based fi nancial services business with a number of growth platforms. The business will have a unique portfolio of service offerings for fi nancial advisors, accountants, mortgage brokers and self-directed investors.

Mr Beeton and Mr Collignon bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles. Mr Beeton is a co-founder of the SFG group and its subsidiaries, with over 17 years’ experience in the fi nance industry across a variety of roles with major fi nancial institutions.

Mr Collignon has over 14 years’ experience in investment management and stockbroking, specialising in equities, options and the development of innovative structured investment solutions.
