SciDev Appoints Jon Gourlay to the Board

SciDev Ltd (ASX:SDV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jon Gourlay BCom CA to the Board.

Jon is a chartered accountant with extensive experience in finance and project management, risk management, business improvement and investor relationships, with a focus on the resources and technology sectors.

He is currently Commercialisation Manager, Technology and Innovation, for Newcrest Mining (2011 – present), with prior roles in investor relations, analysis and improvement of Newcrest's operations at the Lihir Island Gold Mine, PNG. Prior to this, Jon was engaged at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. He also consulted directly to a broad range of corporate groups in the resources, investment banking and superannuation industries.

His strong commercial skills will augment and broaden those already represented on the Board and his extensive experience in managing IP and technology in the mining sector will assist SciDev in executing the Company's aggressive growth strategy.

Jon is engaged as a Non-Executive Independent Director of SciDev. He has requested remuneration on an equity (rather than cash) basis, which reflects his strong belief in the Company's future.

The Board proposes an issue of options to Jon under the Company's Employee Share/Option Scheme. It is proposed the options be issued at an exercise price of $0.12 per share. This will be more fully articulated in a Notice of General Meeting that will be issued to address a range of option issues requiring shareholder consideration.
