APPOINTMENT OF GENERAL MANAGER – EXPLORATION
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Matthew Painter as the General Manager - Exploration for Sabre Resources Ltd. Dr Painter's appointment will take effect from 1 November 2007.
Dr Painter graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1992, with an Honours Degree in Geology. He then obtained his Doctorate from the University of Queensland. His doctoral thesis was on 'the geochemical and mineralogical haloes around the Mount Isa base metal ore bodies'.
In 1997 Dr Painter joined the Geological Survey of Western Australia and worked as part of the regional mapping group based out of Kalgoorlie. He later joined the exploration group of international miner/explorer Anglogold Ltd and was involved in the development of the Sunrise Dam gold mine near Laverton in Western Australia, and also participated in the resource drilling and structural modelling of the Geita gold mine in Tanzania.
In 2005 Dr Painter joined RSG-Global (now Coffey Mining Pty Ltd). While with RSGGlobal he worked on a wide range of projects both in Australia and overseas, including gold projects in Senegal and Ghana and uranium projects in Kyrgyzstan.
As part of his remuneration package, he will receive two tranches each of 250,000 unlisted options expiring on 1 November 2010. The first tranche has an exercise price of 30 cents per option, and the second tranche has an exercise price of 40 cents per option.
Dr Painter's academic and industry experience will be invaluable to Sabre Resources Ltd in the advancement of the Ongava Base Metals project in Namibia and its Australian nickel project.
