GLOBAL MARKET RELEASE OF NEXT GENERATION SEED PRIMING TECHNOLOGY

RLF AgTech Limited (‘the Company’ or ‘RLF’) announces the release of its new breakthrough Veridium[TM] Seed Priming Technology – primed to increase sales by increasing farm yields and ROI.

Key Highlights

  • RLF bolsters product offering with new Veridium[TM] Seed Priming Technology, building on RLF’s existing advanced seed priming technology

  • Veridium[TM] increases yield through its proprietary technology that delivers plant-available

    • nutrition directly to the seed, improving soil moisture and fertiliser uptake
  • Trials showing large gains in wheat, maize (corn) and rice over and above existing technology

  • Global release now underway, supported by a patent application and trademark filing

  • Global seed treatment market projected to be valued at USD $13.5 billion by 2025 growing at a CAGR of 12.19%

Technology-driven plant nutrition company RLF AgTech Ltd (“RLF” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the release of its new Veridium[TM] Seed Priming Technology (“VSPT”) , supported by the application for a patent and trademark filing.

Veridium™ can assist farmers to operate more sustainably by supporting a reduction in farm input costs and an increase in yields – particularly when using Veridium[TM] in combination with RLF’s broader product applications.

In announcing the global release of Veridium[TM] RLF will continue to develop its broader suite of products. Veridium[TM] represents an extension of the Company’s research and development (R&D) program, and its firm commitment to reducing global fertiliser usage and increasing production of global food crops.

The new product is supported by breakthrough data. Significantly increasing the nutrient status of the seed requires only a minimal and comparably low-cost application of Veridium[TM] , and VSPT trials resulted in significant increases in yield across wheat, maize, and rice, as shown in the grower return investment section below.

The trials occurred over a full growing season from seeding through to harvest in the 2021/2022 growing season. The trials were overseen by qualified professional agricultural technical personnel from independent distributors and over seen by RLF’s technical team.

In trials to date, the application of approximately 100 grams of Veridium[TM] on rice seed yielded more than an additional one tonne of grain. The trials confirmed that that the rice was seeded at a rate equivalent to 22.5Kgs per hectare. Veridium was applied to the seed at an application rate of 5mls per kg of seed (equivalent to 112.5mls per hectare).

RLF sees Veridium[TM] and RLF’s broader product suite as critical and highly efficient resources for addressing increasing world hunger, food security, and rising food and agriculture commodity prices – all whilst helping the world achieve net zero.

Ken Hancock, RLF’s Managing Director said:

“Veridium[TM] is a breakthrough addition to RLF AgTech’s product portfolio. Our research to date shows that the use of Veridium[TM,] as an integrated component of RLF’s product suite, will empower farmers to drastically increase yield and profits.

“It is also primed to make a vital contribution to addressing the world’s escalating hunger crisis. If our trial results were extrapolated across the world's rice crops currently at 742M tonnes annually, Veridium[TM] would result in an 11% increase in yield. Given the current global population the average annual consumption of rice per person equates to 64kg per person, this yield increase could boost global rice stocks to feed an additional 1.3 billion people every year.

“This new product represents an exciting step forward in our commitment to sustainable, regenerative global farming practices – and helping farmers be more efficient with fertiliser.”

Market Opportunity

The global seed treatment market is projected to be valued at USD $13.5 billion by 2025 and growing at a CAGR of 12.19%, making it one of the fastest growing sectors in agriculture. RLF considers more efficient and successful seed treatment to be of critical importance in the move to achieve a 50% increase in food production[1] – which the United Nations estimates to be required to meet growing demand by 2030.

RLF’s R&D has identified that through increasing seed nutrition, the application of Veridium[TM] (even with a low application rate and extreme efficiency) can provide significant improvements in yield response, whilst delivering additional benefits to the natural soil biology and carbon sequestration levels. The Veridium trials on rice demonstrated that for an application of less than $2 per hectare Veridium[TM] resulted in an increase of 1,229kg of grain per hectare.

Unlike traditional and less advanced seed treatment applications, Veridium[TM] is applied directly to the seed before planting, by both seed breeders and growers. Veridium[TM] is safely imbibed by the seed to increase seed nutrient levels, resulting in improved soil moisture and fertiliser uptake, vigour and plant growth in the first 45 days of the plants life, by increasing the internal nutrient status of a seed to optimum levels.

RLF is delighted to offer this highly advanced product to the global agricultural market as a solution to some of the world’s greatest agricultural challenges, whilst enabling farmer’s to be substantially more profitable, efficient, and sustainable.

Grower Return on Investment Results

  • Wheat : 435% (4.35 times the Veridium[TM] Investment)

  • Maize : 42,317% (423 times the Veridium[TM] Investment)

  • Rice : 29,976% (300 times the Veridium[TM] Investment)

The results were generated by comparing untreated seed (control) samples and Veridium treated seed. All samples were then applied the same fertiliser treatments and grown in the same conditions until harvest. The harvested weights were then compared between the control and the Veridium treated seed.

The harvested grain weighed from the trial plots showed that Veridium treated seed yielded a higher weight than both the control.

Trials of Corn were undertaken in the Jilin Province, China, wheat in Inner Mongolia, China and rice in the Anhui Province, China.
