The Board of Directors of gold producer and developer, Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX:RMS) advise that the Company’s Managing Director, Mr Ian Gordon has given notice of his intention to stand down from his position in June 2014, following seven years of leadership.

Directors are pleased to advise that Ramelius’ current Chief Operating Officer, Mr Mark Zeptner, has been appointed to succeed Mr Gordon and to take the Company forward in its next phase of growth.

Mr Zeptner, who will commence his new role as Chief Executive Officer in June 2014, is a mining engineer with extensive experience in the gold and nickel sectors obtained in a variety of senior management positions including roles with WMC Limited and Gold Fields Limited.

Mr Gordon joined Ramelius in 2007 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer on 1 August 2009 and subsequently Managing Director in October 2010.

Mr Gordon oversaw the successful development and mining of Ramelius’ high grade Wattle Dam underground gold mine in WA’s eastern goldfields until the mine’s closure in 2013, and, the acquisition and development of the Mt Magnet Gold project and currently expanding its operations. He was also instrumental in the acquisition of the Coogee gold project located near Kambalda in WA and the highly promising Vivien gold project located northeast of Mt Magnet near Leinster WA, which has been progressed close to a decision to mine later this year.

Ramelius Chairman, Mr Bob Kennedy, today expressed his appreciation for Mr Gordon’s leadership and drive, saying that “Ian’s dedication to the Company has been much appreciated by the Board, especially his pursuit of new gold opportunities to bring profitable development into production. On behalf of the Board and all our shareholders I wish him every success in the future.”

Mr Gordon expressed his thanks to the Board and the Company’s employees for their loyalty and support during the past seven years. “It is now timely to hand over the baton, and I am confident that Mark Zeptner is the ideal person to continue to take the Company forward.”

Mr Gordon will stay on as a Non-Executive Director of Ramelius until the 2014 Annual General Meeting late this year.
