BUSINESS UPDATE

ESTABLISHMENT OF

INSTITUTIONAL DIGITAL ASSET TRADING VENTURE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH STANDARD CHARTERED

The board of directors (the ‘‘Board’’) of BC Technology Group Limited (the ‘‘Company’’) is pleased to announce that on 2 June 2021 (after trading hours), the Company and its subsidiaries (collectively referred to as the ‘‘Group’’) has entered into a partnership with SC Ventures, the innovation and ventures unit of Standard Chartered, to jointly establish a digital asset brokerage and exchange platform for institutional and corporate clients in the UK and Europe (the ‘‘Joint Venture Company’’).

The Group Chief Information Officer Mr. Usman Syed Ahmad will become the Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Venture Company, and Mr. Nick Philpott of SC Ventures will be the Chief Operating Officer of the Joint Venture Company.

Based in the UK, and initially targeting the European market, the Joint Venture Company is expected to connect institutional traders to counterparts across markets, delivering access to deep pools of liquidity in Bitcoin, Ether and other digital assets. The Joint Venture Company aims to launch in the fourth calendar quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory approvals.

The Board believes the partnership is a major positive milestone for the digital assets business segment of the Group and the longer term expansion of the Group’s institutional client base.
