SmartTrans strengthens Board with appointment of Mark Ziirsen as Non-Executive Director

09 October 2017: SmartTrans Holdings Limited (ASX: SMA) (‘SmartTrans’, ‘the Company’) reports its changes to the Board and the senior leadership team.

SmartTrans confirms the appointment of seasoned finance executive Mr. Mark Ziirsen as a NonExecutive Director. Mr. Ziirsen is currently the Chief Financial Officer of diversified health solutions provider Admedus and has previously held senior finance-related roles at numerous ASX-listed companies including CCA, Power Brewing, Aristocrat, Goodman Fielder and Cochlear.

Mr. Ziirsen brings a track record in financial management, business performance improvement. His expertise in corporate finance, finance and accounting control, investment decision making, risk management, strategic planning, IT and taxation will enhance the skills of the existing Board.

Mr. Ziirsen’s appointment follows the appointment of experienced China business executive Ms. Tracy Colgan to the Board in July.

The recent changes illustrate that SmartTrans is active in aligning the skills of its Board with its current business activities.

SmartTrans Chairman Mark Vaile said: “Through the appointment of Mr. Ziirsen, SmartTrans is continuing to align the Board’s skills with our strategy. Mark will assist our ability to accelerate across the China e-commerce business and his experience and proven rigour will help our supply chain solutions division.”

SmartTrans also confirms Mr. Bryan Carr’s decision to move to a Non-Executive Director role after his recent relocation to Australia. Bryan will continue to provide his extensive expertise to the firm at Board level. Bryan’s continuing support is crucial to SmartTrans’ future success.

Senior management changes

SmartTrans confirms the appointment of seasoned finance executive John Harley as Global Finance Controller following the recent departure of CFO, Mr. James Brooke. Mr. Harley is a fluent Chinese speaker and qualified Chartered Accountant. Mr Harley was previously the Commercial Manager at SinoGas and Energy, where he managed the setup of their China Operations.

SmartTrans pleased to announce the promotion of Linus D’Crus to the role of GM, Australian Operations. Mr D’Crus is a Supply Chain Specialist who has demonstrated his ability to manage highly technical constraints based linear programs and match technical solutions to fleet customers’ needs.

SmartTrans also announces the promotion of Stevan Tao, a fluent Chinese speaker, to the role of GM, China Operations. Mr. Tao has sound experience and understanding of the Chinese online market. SmartTrans welcomes Stevan’s ability to match his Australian foundations from his double degree in business and psychology from ANU, with the needs of Chinese consumers. Stevan was born in China but spent most of his childhood and teens in Australia before returning. Stevan will oversee all facets of our China eCommerce operations.

Finally, SmartTrans advises that it has appointed Sean Hyatt, a fluent Chinese speaker, to the role of Manager, Sourcing Brands, and reports to Mr. Tao. Mr. Hyatt has demonstrated his ability to engage with Australian brand CEOs and secure their trust to represent their interests in China. Sean has gained the trust of suppliers and customers on both sides of the equator.
