SmartTrans strengthens its board with two new appointments
SmartTrans announces the appointment of Ian Tang and Ian Hawkins to the Board of Directors effective today.
Chinese-resident Ian Tang’s appointment will bring in a wealth of China business experience and facilitate the Company’s growth through its China operations.
Mr Tang will work closely with the SmartTrans team in growing its business in China. “It is my honour to join the SmartTrans Board. I will do my best to facilitate the company’s growth in the interest of the shareholders.” Mr Tang stated.
Mr Tang grew up in Hong Kong and studied in Australia, and has successfully combined his heritage and his adopted culture to aid extensively entrepreneurs and business owners in gaining access to markets in China and Australia with a specific focus on IT and telecommunications.
Mr Tang is the CEO of Beijing AustChina Technology, the Chairman of 123 AustChina Education Consultancy and a Director on the Board of the China-Australia Chamber of Commerce (AustCham Beijing).
Ian Hawkins, the Chief Technical Officer of the Company’s subsidiary SmartTrans Limited, heads up the Australian-based technical team that is responsible for the development and operation of the Company’s mobile software, internet and mobile billing and online lottery business in China and its transport systems in Australia. His addition to the board will greatly strengthen its technical side.
SmartTrans’ Chairman, Dr Geoff Raby said that the new additions to the board will further position the company well to develop into a significant provider of IT services in both the Australian and Chinese markets.
