Item 8.01. Other Events.

On July 15, 2013, Optical Cable Corporation (the “Company” or “OCC ® ”) issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of $0.02 per share on the Company’s common stock effective July 12, 2013. The Company’s Board of Directors declared that the dividend would be paid on or about August 15, 2013 to shareholders of record on July 29, 2013. A copy of the press release announcing the dividend is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Form 8-K.
