David Flacks appointed as NZX Regulatory Governance Committee Chair
NZX today announces the appointment of David Flacks as the independent Chair of NZX’s Regulatory Governance Committee (RGC). Mr Flacks will replace the Committee’s current Chair, Derek Johnston, effective 1 September 2017. The term of the appointment is two years.
The RGC assists the NZX Board in fulfilling its governance responsibilities in relation to the regulatory function for its registered markets.
NZX Chairman James Miller commented: “I would like to welcome David to the committee. He brings a wealth of experience and integrity to the role, which will continue to ensure we operate fair, orderly and transparent markets.”

David Flacks biography
Previously a partner at Bell Gully, Mr Flacks is an experienced corporate lawyer. He is currently a director of specialist corporate law firm Flacks & Wong, and a director of the Vero Insurance group of companies and the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund. In addition to this, Mr Flacks is Chair of AFT Pharmaceuticals and Harmoney Corp. He is a former member of the Takeovers Panel, and a former Chair of the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal.
